Inside Sales Account Manager

Job Summary:

Zymo Research, an innovative biotechnology company located in Irvine, CA, is dedicated to developing industry-leading life science products and services. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, and detail-oriented Account Manager with a strong internal sales focus to spearhead the expansion and solidify our market presence in the life science sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client relationships, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves collaborating with various departments to meet client needs and achieve sales targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts while identifying opportunities for growth and upselling additional products or services.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create targeted strategies to drive sales and increase market penetration.
  • Lead Generation: Identify potential clients and generate leads through research, networking, and inbound inquiries.
  • Sales Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to clients, showcasing how our biotechnology solutions meet their needs.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Lead discussions with clients to negotiate terms and close sales deals, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with customer support, product development, and marketing to ensure seamless delivery of services and client satisfaction.
  • Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and client interactions using company CRM systems. Analyze trends to inform future strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular updates on sales performance, client feedback, and market trends to senior management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in account management or sales, preferably in the life sciences, biotechnology or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of biotechnology products and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Preferred background in biology or related life sciences disciplines.

Compensation:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $60,000 per year - $85,000 per year annually at the time of posting. In addition to base compensation, this position offers a commission structure including uncapped quarterly commission, and annual bonus potential based on achieving growth targets. The total compensation potential earnings including base salary and commission is $60,000 - $120,000 + annually. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
